At the first event of the season on June 21st at Hobbytown USA in Lakeland, FL Participants must choose two trucks competing in two different classes to have there points combined to form there overall points earnings for the Season. For example if you start the series with a HPI Savage you can not switch to a Losi LST in the middle of the series and accumulate the points under the same truck name.

06-14-08 Summer Rules Voting

It has been proposed that we streamline our program a little by our host Hobby shops.  Now that we are in the summer rain season it’s in our best interest to try and complete a race day before the afternoon showers are upon us. To do this we have decided to only do 1 show and shine contest which will be held at the last event of the Summer Scorcher Series held at Superior Hobbies. This will save time in efforts to get the programs finished at an earlier time. In place of show and shine judging we can take a quick group photo with trucks. Also if we have classes that have less than 6 participants only 1st place finishers will receive prizes. All Participants will still receive Event Points.

No Limit RC of Florida Rules Voting Ballot: Read each proposal carefully. To vote click on the contact button on the right side or the webpage and fill in the requested information (Name and email address) and in the comments box number your responses 1 through 2 yes or no. 4 through 6 A, B, C or D. Only Current No Limit R/C Participants Votes will be counted. Votes must be submitted by June 18. Any votes received after June 18th will not be counted.

Saturday morning saw a few rain showers which made the track nice and damp for the first of several elimination races, but as the sun came out, the track dried out to provide a somewhat slick, but even, playing field for all competitors. In-between each round of racing, fans and fellow racers got to participate in several raffles, prize giveaways and Monster truck Trivia with Joey Gargaro from No Limit R/C of Virginia, John Schultz of HPI Racing, and Team Grave Diggers’ own Dennis Anderson. Racing action saw each competitor face off in a single elimination bracket until a champion was crowned. After each of the 6 racing classes were completed, the top 3 winners headed on over to the one of a kind terra tire podium which featured 3 terra tires that were cut in half to make an awesome photo op for the top 3 finishers.
Sunday Morning kicked off with the Parma show and shine contest. Participants placed their super tricked out trucks on the track to be judged in 7 different categories. The No Limit RC President, Justin Haugland and Director of Operations, Bari Musawwir joined together to take on the daunting task of choosing 7 winners from the 330 trucks on display.
Show and Shine winners
- Best Scale Representation of a Full size monster truck: Dave Pack Custom replica Grave Digger

- Best appearing chassis/design Kevin Holmlund ¼ scale Grave Digger

For the first time since its inception, No Limit RC brought truck pulling to the World Finals as a competition. Three different classes of trucks would muscle their way down the 4’ x 30’ dirt pulling track to crown a champion. The NR/CTPA pulling competition saw Nathan Kincy take home the Small block Pulling title. Charles R Poulter III took home the win in the Sportsman Big Block Class in dramatic fashion and Jimmy Zirk walked away with the Pro Big Block Title making it look way too easy.

The R/C Car Action Magazine Freestyle Competition was next up. Participants had 90 seconds to do whatever they could in spectacular fashion to wow the Panel of Judges, made up of full size monster truck drivers and crew. The freestyle course was truly one of a kind featuring a Terra Tire Triple Jump and a Grave Digger fiberglass body which had a huge ramp mounted inside the cab leading straight out the windshield, a murky pond and a ton of other custom made jumps. 163 trucks competed in the Freestyle Competition but no one could match the run laid down by Michael McKinney. Michael received a score of 29 to take home the 2008 Freestyle World Championship. Michael received a tricked out Savage X courtesy of RC Car Action Magazine and a 6 foot 4 inch tall trophy. Next year I’m sure Michael will have a grave digger body atop his truck because Dennis Anderson also puts out a $500 bounty if you win freestyle with a grave Digger Body on your Rig. Nonetheless, congrats to Michael on your well deserved win!
The Buku Power Long Jump was a chance of a lifetime to not only win a one of a kind custom Savage X prepared by our good friends over at the HPI Savage forum, but also to launch your truck over the top of the most famous Monster Truck in the world. That’s right! Participants were treated with the extra added effect of having Grave Digger 20 parked behind the long jump ramp so they could sky their vehicles over the black and green wrecking machine. 112 trucks took to the long jump ramp but no one could match Eddie Tipton’s Savage X leaping 38’3”. Eddie walked away with the custom Savage X sporting the new HPI 5.9 engine and Buku pipe!
The R/C Driver Steel Cage match proved to be the ultimate endurance test for any driver willing to sacrifice their R/C pride and joy in an all out, every truck for itself, crash and bash throw down. Drivers were on attack mode as 32 trucks took to the track looking to disable their opponents by any means necessary. After several minutes of abuse John Shultz and his Savage XL would come out the winner as the last truck standing. Despite losing 1 tire and wheel earlier in the competition, John’s XL would not quit. The 5.9 engine kept going and going and going. John received a custom built Savage courtesy of R/C Driver magazine which he graciously handed down to the second place finisher, David McAlister of Virginia Beach, VA. David was ecstatic; he said he would not let the truck out of his sight for weeks!!
This event was a huge success! This was the biggest and best World Finals at the Dungeon to date. The No Limit Team did an outstanding job. A big thanks goes out to Craig and Tara for recording all the times, No Limit RC of Virginia, No Limit RC of Florida, Joey Gargaro, Tom Hagen, Allen Quatro, Justin Heard, Chris Dixon, Eric Garneau, John Helton, Tom Dixon, Zeek Heard, Melissa Haugland, Bari Musawwir, and Justin Haugland.

To Bryan and Scott from SMC for supplying all our battery needs. To Steve Slayden and Casey from Traxxas who supported the Traxxas racers in attendance. 02-23-08No Limit R/C of Florida wow's the huge crowd at the 2008 Jacksonville Florida Monster Jam Pit Party

The State of the Art Jacksonville Municipal Stadium was the site for yet another 70,000 plus Sold out Florida Monster Jam event. No Limit R/C of Florida was invited to be on hand to put on a spectacular R/C Monster Truck Demo during the pit party. We started out super early on Saturday February 23, 2008 to head out of Orlando in route to Jacksonville. We drove through some torrential rain storms up I-95 to be there, but we arrived safely to beautiful clear sky’s for the duration of the day. We set up a Head to Head Chicago Style track as part of the huge Built Ford Tough Party in the Pits. Tom Dixon set down the early Qualifying time to beat with his HPI Racing Savage X Predator. However Tom’s time would be short lived as the defending 2007 RC Monster Truck World Finals Freestyle Champion Bari Musawwir and His HPI Racing Grave Digger Savage X 4.6 ss would take over the top spot. As Racing wound down the fast qualifier would get taken out by 9 year old Christopher Dixon son of Tom Dixon. In the Finals Zeek Heard and his Built Ford Tough Blue Thunder HPI Savage X would go on to defeat JD Kelly’s Super Man Revo. As we prepared for Freestyle Fans were treated to all the HPI Racing Stickers, R/C Car Magazines, and Novak Brochures they could handle. The Freestyle Demo offered a controlled Chaos type atmosphere with several trucks tearing up the track in an astounding display of power and durability. Defending 2007 R/C Monster Truck World Racing Champion Justin Heard Launched his Hot Bodies Lighting 2 Pro Buggy several feet into the air as the crowd cheered him on. As we wrapped up the pit party festivities it was on to the huge stadium floor were we entertained the pre show early bird Monster Jam Fans. Bari launched his HPI Baja 5b buggy off of the gigantic 20 plus foot tall Freestyle Motocross Landing Ramp repeatedly each time hearing the crowed roar louder and louder. In an awesome display of engineering expertise and durability the Baja never missed a beat and kept going and going. This event was a big success and in closing, No Limit R/C would like to thank HPI Racing for all for there support. We would not be able to do what we do without the support of such a leading company in the R/C industry. Thank You HPI!

02-01-08No Limit R/C of Florida was a Big Hit at the 2008 Orlando Florida Monster Jam Pit Party

On Saturday January 26, 2008 the Orlando Citrus Bowl played host to ever popular Monster Jam Florida Tour. This year No Limit R/C of Florida put on a spectacular scaled down R/C Monster Truck Racing and Freestyle event during the Built Ford Tough Party in the Pits.  With a large 25 truck field on hand the sheer sound of Nitro Burning engines drew a crowd. Each Replica R/C Monster truck and Driver were introduced to music. HPI Racing’s own John Schultz and Collin Cocores were on hand all the way from California to part take in the action. We ran a straight line drag racing type course which meant you had to cut a great light on our Race America timing system to have a chance at winning. In the Racing Finals Bari Musawwir took the win with his HPI Racing Grave Digger Savage Xss over Mike Herndon and his Monster Mutt. After the finals it was time to switch gears and head into the stadium to wow the pre show spectators with a little exhibition right out on the Citrus Bowl Floor.  Trucks and drivers handed up huge Air, back flips, and doughnuts which had the crow buzzing. John Schultz had his HPI Racing Baja 5b tuned perfectly for the Florida evening atmosphere as he put the highly recognizable 1/5th scale buggy through its paces. This sold out show went down in history as the first Monster Jam to run a Las Vegas style Monster Truck Racing Course outside of Las Vegas. Nathan Weenk in El Toro Loco took his 2nd back to back Racing win, while Randy Brown in Grave Digger Won Freestyle.

01-21-08 No Limit R/C of Florida ROCKS the 2008 Tampa Monster Jam Pit Party!

Monster Jam Fans in Tampa were treated to an actual R/C Monster Truck Racing event held at the Built Ford Tough Party in the Pits January 19,2008. The Day started out early Saturday Morning as the No Limit R/C of Florida Demo Team met up at Central Florida Hobbies in Orlando to Cruz on over to Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. We arrived just before 9am to start constructing the racing course. We set up the track similar to a real side by side stadium style obstacle course with lexan crush car bodies provided by HPI racing which were painted using Fascolor R/C paint provided by Parma International. We got things kicked off in front of a huge eager field of spectators as we gave away countless HPI racing stickers to the kids! Next it was on to the Parma track demonstration where 2 HPI Wheelie Kings were driven around the obstacle course to show the crowd how the course would be run. Finally it was show time as we cranked up the music and 11 Nitro burning R/C monster trucks headed out on the track for 3 parade laps. The Crowd was in awe as the feild drove by. They were able to pick out there favorite replica R/C monster truck since the entire feild was sporting custom made replica bodies of their 10,000 pound counterparts. Just when the dust had cleared and the drivers were announced “Young Son of a Gun" Michael Hartsock blasted onto the scene with his Gunslinger Traxxas T-Maxx. Mike Herndon and His Losi LST Monster Mutt replica barked onto the track next followed by Zeek Heard with his Built Ford Tough Blue Thunder HPI Savage X. And then there were two. Justin Heard and his HPI Savage X Maximum Destruction and Bari Musawwir with his Losi Grave Digger stormed on to the track as the crowd cheered them on they went into a full on freestyle featuring cyclone donuts and big air!! After Intros It was time to go racing. We had our Race America Christmas Tree timing system on hand  to provide a scale and accurate day of side by side qualifying and single elimination racing. Racing action heated up with Bari Musawwir’s Grave Digger taking on Walter Cruz and his Raminator in the final round.  After the dust settled Bari’s Grave Digger Crossed the line first but was assessed a 1 second penalty for knocking down a turning pole which gave Walter the racing win. Much to the chagrin of the huge gathering of spectators, racing was in the books. That meant it was time for the HPI freestyle event to round out the demo.  Trucks were pushed to the Limit with big jumps, doughnuts, and wheelies from every angle imaginable. No Limit’s Tom Dixon, Bari Musawwir and Zeek Heard handed out roughly 600 HPI stickers to all the young future R/C Monster Truckers in the crowd through out the day.  Judging by the photos by our official No Limit R/C Photographer Eric Garneau! it’s safe to say No Limit R/C of Florida defiantly got the fans geared up for the Monster Jam Main event!  Check out the photo gallery here.

01-07-08 Full Throttle Championship Series Race 1 is in the books!

The Record Books that is! Seventy (70) Trucks showed up for the Season Opener for the No Limit R/C of Florida Full throttle Championship Points Series at Hobby TownUSA in LakelandFlorida. We got things started with the Show and Shine Contest where Charles and Chas Beaman of Team Gold Dust took home top honors with their Gold Mine Rig and Trailer. 2nd place went to Mike "Hulk" Herndon with his incredible Losi Hulk Monstrosity, 3rd place belonged to Raymond Harris and his always recognizable Pink Lady Traxxas Revo.Racing action heated up with qualifying on the St. Louis style twin oval obstacle course which gave the drivers a chance to really open up the throttles on these machines with speeds approaching 40 miles per hour as the trucks crossed the finish line. The 4x4 Small Block semi finals saw Fast Qualifier Bari Musawwir and his Sizzler Traxxas Revo 3.3 take out Timothy Scism’s Traxxas Revo This race proved to be 1 of the closest of the day with Bari wining with a 10.19 second run over Timothy’s 10.24 second pass. The other Semi Final Match up saw Chris Castret record the upset win over Walter Cruz and his Cruz Machine Traxxas Revo. In the finals Bari would not be denied as he won going away over Chris Castrets T-Maxx.
4x4 Big Block Racing welcomed the return of some long time great friends and racing competitors. JD Kelly and Steve Tash were back in competition after taking several races off. The time off did not seem to bother them as they both qualified in the top 5. As we ran the 19 truck field single elimination bracket our Race America timing system worked flawlessly to bring us to the Final Round match up. Raymond Harris and his Slasher Revo lined up against Walter Cruz and his Losi LST 2 he calls the Cruz F-650. Walter came across the finish line first but he missed the last ramp which gave him a 1 second penalty. This mistake was just what Raymond needed to record the Big Block Racing victory. With a 12.00 second flat pass versus Walters 12.23.
The 9 truck Truggy / Buggy field was led by fast qualifier Mike Herndon and his Hard Charger Losi
8-T. In the Semi Finals Mike edged out young Jovan Cruz to line up against Raymond Harris and his HPI Hellfire SS in the Finals. Raymond continued his winning ways as he crossed the finish line a few truck lengths ahead of Mike for the win.  As the Sun began to set Run what you Brung Drag racing saw many close races and great reaction times. Steve Tash and his Gator Losi 8-T came out on top as he cut a great light in the Finals against Curtis Bait and his Dominatior.
With Nightfall upon us Pulling action would still attract tons of spectators as we continue to set the bar higher and higher. Small block pulling saw Timothy Scism and his Traxxas Revo record a 70 pound Full Pull. In the 4x4 Sportsman Big Block Class Billy Dunleavy out pulled the field again. This was Billy’s second time out with us and his Team Associated Monster GT would not be denied as he pulled 120 pounds to a full pull with ease. Josh Wooldridge continued to dominate the 4x4 Pro big block pulling class with a drive shaft slinging pull of 28’4” at 225 pounds to take the win. Check out all the Results, Points Standings, Photos from this spectacular event!
