Jonathan Morris Makes NLRCFL History with the first Ever Perfect Light Reaction Time!

Picture
On October 3, 2009 at Hobby Town USA Lakeland, Florida, Jonathan Morris of Team Syndicate made history, by recording a perfect .400 green light reaction time at the start of his drag race. Bari has previously set out a deal that the first person to get a perfect light would get 20 bucks cash. Well as you can see, Bari was true to his word and coughed up the dough to a well deserving and ecstatic Jonathan. If you follow drag racing you know just how hard it can be to achieve this task. Way to go Jonathan!

Zeek Heard Sets 3 More Sled Pulling Records!

Picture
As of late Zeek Heard has been on a mission with his Losi LST pulling trucks. Mr. Heard backed up his 250 lbs big block carpet pulling record by tugging 262.5 lbs to a 30 foot full pull with his Catastrophic Dump Truck. The Orange County Wolf Pack truck also managed to muscle 260 lbs to a full pull as well. Not to be out done by his big brothers Zeek’s one of a kind Bully Dog small block puller, pulled 10 times its weight by achieving a 150lbs. full pull. Zeek has the competition hot on his heals as they want a piece of the record books too. See if they can do it at our next event November 5th at Superior Hobbies but for now, the Pulling records reside at the Heard Residents. Zeek wants everyone to know that this wasn’t an overnight success, he’s been pulling for years and the photo below proves it. Who’s that you might ask? It’s young Justin Heard sitting in the pulling sled, who is now a Sophmore in College. WOW!

Champions are Crown at Race 5 to cap off the Full Throttle Championship Season.

Hobby TownUSA played host to the 5th and final race for the 2009 Full Throttle Championship points Series. We were glad to have our great photographer Eric Garneau back. Check out his 123 photo gallery of the last event here.   Coming into the days action many classes came down to the final event including the 4wd big block standing. With a 3rd place finish on the day, Billy Dunleavy managed to edge out first place in the overall points race by 10 points over hard charging Bari Musawwir. Congrats goes out to Billy on his 2nd Points Series championship in this class.  Billy was awarded a brand new HPI Savage XL prize courtesy of our great sponsor HPI Racing.

Big Block Pulling had Josh Woodridge and Zeek Heard Tied for first place heading into the last event. With everything on the line, Josh managed to muscle his way down the 4 x 30 foot asphalt surface to take the win for the day and the championship. Josh's consistency throughout the series earned him a brand new HPI K5.9 big block engine!

Small Block Racing saw Bari Musawwir take his second championship home in that class.  Zeek Heard and JD Kelly came home 2nd and 3rd respectfully.

Small Block Pulling also came down to the last event where JD Kelly again proved he was the man to beat as his 2nd place finish on the day earned him the championship over Hanna Sullivan by the slimmest of margins.

Monster Truck Drag Racing was a highly close and competitive class this season. Always Strong Zeek Heard finished a close 2nd to the always consistent Billy Dunleavy, who took his Savage XL to the championship. Billy is known for cutting great lights on the tree, which is the name of the game in drag racing. Billy took home a set of Hot Bodies Baller tires and wheels courtesy of Hot Bodies by HPI.

Truggy Racing saw the ever dominate Mike Herndon walk away with the obstacle course racing title, but Mike may have sparked some interest from other racers in the process, so be on the look out for the truggy class to grow next season.

Truggy Drag became the most anticipated knock down drug out smack talking speed-fest between Team Syndicate and the 863 boys. The 863 boys based out of Polk County were able to take 2 big wins late in the season to make the points chase fun and very interesting toward the final event, but it was Steve Tash and Mike Herndon actually finishing the series in a tie for 1st place. With the co champions crown, Each of them took home a set of HPI Phalt lines tires and wheels.

Congrats to all the winners. We are looking forward to next season already. Stay tuned for more info on an all new Drag Racing Series coming next.

NLRCFL wows  the 2009 Jacksonville Monster Jam Fans!

Jacksonville’s Municipal Stadium marked the last stop of the Florida Monster Jam stadium tour. Not only was No Limit R/C of Florida on hand but they were also joined by four members of No Limit R/C of Virginia. Joey Gargaro, Carl Denker, Allan Quatro and Dustin Deardorf made the 12 hour trip from Virginia to take part in the biggest field of trucks to date. This show had the makings to be the best one yet. With a beautiful day of weather ahead of them, the crew set up a six lane obstacle course to challenge the 21 truck field.  With this being the last pit party show, many racers brought two trucks to have a better chance at victory. The number one qualifier Bari Musawwir set the pace with a blistering run as he maneuvered his small block Savage X Iron Outlaw around the track flawlessly. The field was in for a tough day when Bari also put his Grave Digger Savage X in the number two qualifying spot. With the huge field of trucks set, it was time to go racing. Racing action saw many close races and a few upsets. Number 16 qualifier, Chris Barger with El Matador had an early lead on number 7 qualifier Steve Tash with Captain USA until the last turn when Chris made the turn to sharp and went down the wrong lane to finish the race. As they worked their way through the racing bracket, 10 year old Chris Dixon with his Gunslinger Savage X found himself matched up with Grave Digger which turned out to be 1 of the closest races of the day as Bari squeaked buy Chris at the very finish. In the Semi Finals Bari’s Iron Outlaw advanced when Mike Herndon and Max D hit the timing system disqualifying him. In the other semi final race Allan Quattro representing No Limit R/C of Virginia squared his Bounty Hunter Savage X off with Grave Digger with Bari taking the win. With the finals set it was the Bari vs. Bari show as he put both of his Savage X replicas in the finals. Zeek Heard piloted the Iron Outlaw truck while Bari lined up the Grave Digger. As the light went green both trucks blasted off the line with Bari charging hard for the victory. We are proud to announce that HPI Savages went 4-0 during the Florida Monster Jam Pit Party Racing Tour, with Billy Dunleavy’s Escalade Savage X winning in Orlando and Bari’s Grave Digger winning Miami, Tampa and Jacksonville. We can’t wait for next year already! No Limit RC thanks HPI for there great Products and support!

After a 3 week break the No limit R/C of Florida crew made the short 1 hour trek from Orlando to the where the Pittsburg Steelers won Super Bowl 44.  On February 21, 2009 Raymond James Stadium in Tampa played host to the third stop on the 2009 Florida Monster Jam Florida Tour. No Limit R/C of Florida had 12 Replica RC Monster trucks on hand for a great day of racing and freestyle for the Tampa fans. The day started by unloading the brand new fully wrapped No Limit R/C of Florida trailer sporting eye catching graphics and HPI Racing Monster Trucks. As the huge number of fans poured into the Built Ford Tough Party in the pits its was time to get things started with Driver and Truck Introductions. After each driver was introduced it was time to get it on!The Tampa fans were treated to a modified Las Vegas style track which provided some exciting racing action. The 2007 RC Monster Truck World Finals Racing Champion, Justin Heard and his Savage X named TAZ recorded the number 1 qualifying time in front of the huge crowd. Fresh off a big win in Miami, Bari Musawwir put his Savage X Grave Digger in the number 2 qualifying slot followed by his biggest rival Mike Herndon of Team Syndicate with his modified  Losi  LST2 Maximum Destruction. As they worked there way through the 12 truck bracket the number 1 and 2 qualifiers seemed to be on a collision course that would land them both in the Racing Finals.  In Semi Final one, Mike Herndon with Max D actually beat Justin with TAZ, but on his warm up lap just before the final Round Mike landed hard on the nose of his truck breaking the left front steering knuckle which knocked him out of competition. Justin was reinserted into race to take Mikes place to take on non other than his Orange County Wolf Pack teammate Bari and the Grave Digger Savage X.  Bari earned his birth in the Finals by taking out his other teammate Zeek Heard and his Built Ford Tough Blue Thunder Savage X. In the Finals as the Crowed Stomped to “WE WILL WE WILL ROCK YOU”, Justin and Bari charged hard off the starting line, with Justin charging a little to hard causing him to miss the first turn handing Bari and his Grave Digger Savage X his 2nd consecutive Florida Monster Jam Pit Party Tour Win. After the dust from the racing action cleared it was onto freestyle with massive air from everyone off of their brand new 3 foot tall ramp. In Conclusion this R/C Monster truck show definitely got the Tampa fans fired up for the real monster trucks inside the stadium later that evening. Scott Hartsock and his Gunslinger Ford, outran Dennis Anderson and Grave Digger to take the Racing win in a photo finish, while Dennis’s son Adam Anderson took home the freestyle win in TAZ. Look for No Limit R/C of Florida back in Tampa next year with even more room to rumble and more trucks.

NLRCFL Invades the 2009 Miami Monster Jam!

The No Limit R/C of Florida  gang made the 4 hour trip south, down Interstate 95 from Orlando to continue the Florida Monster Jam Tour for the Miami fans at the 2009 event at Dolphins Stadium. The uncharacteristic drop in temperature did not deter the South Florida fans one bit, as they crowed the pit party fence lines to watch the No Limit R/C Monster Truck show. To get things started Tom Dixon fired up his Baja 5b as Bambi Dyess and JD Kelly handed out HPI Stickers and brochures.  By this time the crowd was buzzing as 16 Replica R/C Monster trucks came to life for their introduction parade laps to music much like their 10,000 pound big brothers.  After introductions it was on to qualifying. Bari Musawwir and his Grave Digger Savage X blistered the modified Las Vegas style track to earn the top qualify spot of the 16 truck field.  With the qualifying over, it was time to get down to business with the single elimination racing bracket which paired the fasted qualifiers versus the slowest. With Bari Musawwir and Mike Herndon qualifying on opposite sides of the ladder, the racing was shaping up to feature the classic matchup in the finals between Grave Digger and Maximum Destruction. Bari knocked out Justin Heard and El Toro loco, Tom Dixon and Gunslinger and J.D. Kelly with the Instigator to find himself matched up with Mike in the finals. Mike earned his way there by taking out Billy Dunleavy in Batman, Bari’s other truck Monster Mutt, and Zeek Heard with Bounty Hunter. As the crowd cheered for their favorite replica monster truck super stars, the trucks staged at the starting line. When the light turned green it was hammer down with the 2 trucks nearly neck and neck through the entire race until the final turn which was maneuvered brilliantly by Bari and his Grave Digger Savage X to take the win over his arch nemesis Mike Herndon and Max D. As Bari was announced the winner the crowd went into frenzy with the same enthusiasm as if we were racing real monster trucks.  After the awesome display of racing many trucks came out to freestyle much to the delight of the sea of fans that had assembled. Shortly after freestyle the crew was invited out on the main show floor of Dolphins Stadium for a little pre show action for the fans inside. Everyone launched their trucks off the freestyle motocross landing ramp catching huge air but Billy Dunleavy had the crash landing of the evening when he skied his Savage XL Batman off the ramp landing upside down with a loud crunch as the highly detailed ABS plastic body exploded into 4 pieces. It was a narly crash landing but it was only cosmetic damage as the extremely tough Savage XL kept on going as Billy launched it off the 12 foot tall ramp a few more times.  In conclusion the Miami fans were treated to a 2nd to none Replica R/C Monster Truck display and were already eager to have the No Limit R/C of Florida team back for next year’s Miami Monster jam.  The No Limit team would like to again thank John Schultz, Rodney Wills, and Collin Cocores of HPI Racing for their outstanding support. Check out the 186 picture PHOTO GALLERY of this event here.

NLRCFL Rocks the 2009 Orlando Monster Jam!

The Monster Jam tour returned to Orlando Florida January 24, 2009 with a world class line up of Monster Trucks to thrill the fans at the sold out Citrus Bowl. No Limit RC of Florida was invited to come out at put on an RC Monster Truck elimination style bracket race during the Built Ford Tough Party in the pits. With the pit party taking place inside the neighboring Tinker Field Baseball Stadium the No Limit RC gang transformed the dual lane bullpen, into very fast R/C Monster Truck drag strip obstacle course. To kick off the show each driver and truck were introduced to music much to the delight of the eager gathering of fans. Following introductions, each racer qualified there truck to determine the elimination bracket. The 17 truck field was led by Billy Dunleavy II driving his pimped out Savage X Escalade replica with spinners and all. Billy’s number 1 qualifying pass earned him a by run in round 1 due to the uneven field of trucks. As they worked there way through 17 elimination rounds of racing the semi finals featured an all Savage X final 4. Zeek Heard’s Blue Thunder Replica took out number 4 qualifier, Bari Musawwir and the Grave Digger.  The other semi final race saw number 1 qualifier Billy Dunleavy’s Escalade take out J.D. Kelly’s Instagator to set up the much anticipated Final Round.  Billy Dunleavy would cap off a tq with a win as he beat Zeek Heard by half a tire in a photo finish Final Round. Way to go Billy!

After the racing events concluded, it was on to an all out freestyle show where the drivers come out to wow the crowd. 10 year old Chris Dixon was a fan favorite as he pulled off several triple and quadruple back flips with his Savage X. Bari Musawwir’s brand new 5t finished out freestyle much to the amazement of the fans. It was truly a great day of racing as No Limit RC got the fans amped up for the Monster Jam show later that evening.
