12-3-07 Where there's a REAL Pulling Sled there is a Way!
R/C Truck pulling in Central Florida will never be the same from this day forth. Why, you ask? One reason, the days of mediocre sled technology are over. December 1st 2007 marked the maiden voyage for our new Hobbico Max Trax pulling sled and boy did she perform. From the very first hook to the sled everyone knew that the potential for a record breaking day was within reach. 70 lbs were stacked into the sled as the small block trucks took to the 4 foot wide by 30 foot long carpet pulling surface. When the Nitro Smoke Cleared It was new comer Bob Macke taking his Traxxas T-Maxx down the track to a distance of 20'9" for the win. This was Bob's first win in No Limit Racing Action. Congrats Bob! Charles and Chas Beaman of Team Gold Dust brought home 2nd and 3rd with there Traxxas T-maxx's maxing out at 18'11" and 15'4" respectfully. New comer Brennan Hoyt brought out his twin engine HPI Savage just to do a test pull to see what his truck could do, Well I think Mr. Hoyt impressed himself and others has his custom dual motor HPI Savage took 150 pounds down the track like the sled wasn't event there. I think he is hooked now, No pun intended. The Big Block Pulling class stole the show with some of the best nitro 4x4 pulling Machines you will ever see. Zeek Heard, Robert Concepcion and Josh Wooldrige battled tooth and nail to see who had the strongest Hot Rod as night fell. These Big Block brutes managed to man handle a whopping record breaking, diff gear crunching, axle snapping 205 pounds down the No Limit R/C Carpet Track. That's right 205 big ones!! Zeek Heard and his Orange County Wolf Pack Iron Outlaw Losi LST held the lead going into round 2 of pulling with a distance of 25'3" only to be over taken by Team Syndicates own Robert Concepcion who had a great pull going with his Delirious Losi LST until he lost traction 5 feet from a full pull ending his run at 25'10". Just when you thought it was safe, "Da-Gum" Josh Wooldrige snatched the 205 lbs down the track effortlessly, caring great ground speed and momentum on the way to a full pull win with his highly modified Traxxas T-Maxx named Popeye. Way to go Josh! Gift certificates from Superior Hobbies went to these top 3 finishers. Not to be outdone Mike Herndon brought out the Unlimited Pulling beast better known as "The Hulk". Mike wanted 250 lbs stacked on the Max Trax Sled and that's just what he got. As the hulk came to life the truck dragged an astounding 250 lbs down the track to a 29'5" Pull.
